It was a very rainy day yesterday. Something I have not seen in a long time. Florida is dry right now so the rain is a welcome sight. I did not have any outdoor plans yesterday and it is a good thing because it would have been a complete washout. So I spent time on the internet, worked on my hobby of making cards using rubber stamps, and watched movies. I was able to catch up on some cards that were over due for my card club.
Today, the weather forecast is the same as yesterday so Tim and I are going to drive around Kissimmee, Fl. the gateway to Disneyworld. Kissimmee's population is 61,000 (2009). It's median age is 30 and the median income is $40,000. KISSIMMEE is the modern spelling of its trbal word. Atissimi was the original name but has also been referenced as Jicimi or Tisimi. In the mid 1700s Spanish maps used the word Cacema which has evolved into today's spelling of Kissimmee. You can tell the locals around here just by the way Kissimmee is pronounced. I butcher it every time I say it but can write it perfectly.
There are a lot of Restaurants, Souvenir shops, Hotel/Motels and its biggest attraction "Old Town" in Kissimmee. Old Town is a stip of land with gift shops and restaurants and a crusing strip for all the car shows that happen there.
I think I will plan on visiting some of the souvenir shops just to see what kind of deals I can find on "Disney" merchandise. You never know who may want that Mickey Mouse painted on a shell placed in a bottle but you know someone must because it is sold in the store. Come back tomorrow to see what I do find in my journey through the Souvenir shops.
