Yes, rain again and once again, we got stuck in it. Tim and I decided to take the scooters for a ride. I decided that we should ride them to Old Town not realizing how far it would be on a scooter. It was a nice day so why not. We arrived at Old Town, parked the scooters and walked around visting the shops. It was strange walking around Old Town and not having to fight the crowds. It really is a night time place but all the shops are open during the day too.
I finally found some souvenirs that I had to wonder why? A miniture guitar with Florida stamped on the bottom - really? How does a guitar represent Florida for a souvenir? How about a toilet with Florida on it? I don't want to know why you would want that for a memory from your trip. Then there was the monkey statue with Florida on the bottom. Monkeys? Where? It is always fun to find items like this and wonder who would buy them as souvenirs.
When we walked out of the souvenir shop we noticed that black clouds were moving in. We decided to leave and try to beat the rain. Scooters and rain really are not a good combination. We were maybe on the road for 5 minutes and big rain drops started to fall. We found coverage under an overhang at a Nike Factory store when it started to pour and pour and pour. When it lightened up and we were just about to get going again it rained again only harder. This kept up for about 30 minutes. The rain finally quit and we started going. Not 10 minutes down the road we discovered that it had only rained in that one little area we were in. The roads were dry for the rest of the way home. We made it home in time for the rain to begin and continue for the rest of the day. We had fun on our journey with the scooters even with the rain.
Today I do not have any plans. Maybe Disney or take a drive and see where we end up. There is always the Presdent's Hall of Fame but then it is Saturday and I am sure that place will be packed!
