SideTrip Wednesday

I spent most of Wednesday finishing up working on my Halloween decorations for my sister's SAS but that was after Tim and I went to Temecula for a little while.  Temecula is a beautiful city that is located between Murietta and the Penchanga Indian Reservation.  Temecula got it's name for it's first residents, the Temecula Tribe that lived in the Temecula area for hundreds of years until the Spanish missionaries and explorers cane around in the 1790s.  Temecula, besides being the name of the natives also means "the place of the sun"  although other interpretations are "The sun that shines through the mist" or "Where the sun breaks through the mist".  After the Temecula natives left the area it became a big ranch, Rancho Temecula.  As California began to grow, especially during the Gold Rush, Temecula became a popular Stage coach stop.  Temecula is the only city in California that kept it's original name, Temecula.  Today it is a popular commuter city for San Diego and Riverside and is another wine country area in California.  There are some beautiful wineries in Temecula and on the week ends Old Town Temecula and the wineries area are a popular tourist destination.  It also has several of the big box stores and restaurants.  It is a beautiful town that Tim and I like to visit.  Yesterday's journey to Temecula was to visit Hobby Lobby and since we were there during lunchtime we decided to have lunch too!
Today we are headed to Oceanside for another week and we are looking forward to some cooler weather.  It is suppose to be in the high 70's for the next seven days, yay! I have also posted a couple more pictures of my Halloween creations!
