A Travel Tip

Here is a very easy but important travel tip, Know the county you are staying in.  If bad weather develops in your area this is something you need to know.  Most News Channels and the Weather Channel (on TV and Radio) will list watches or warnings by counties.  This is why you need to know what county you are in.   It is even better if you know some of the surrounding counties.  This also helps with traffic warnings at times.  We have done this throughout our travels and we need to because although we are perfectly safe in the RV during a thunderstorm if a tornado warning is issued we have to go to a secure building.  At Thousand Trails this is their Activity Centers.  At other campgrounds it is usually the bathrooms.  This does not only pertain to camping but also when staying in hotels.  So, the next time you check in somewhere ask what county you are in.
Tonight is the Closing Ceremonies of the Olympics and I have to say I have enjoyed these Olympics and will be sorry they are over but the Winter Olympics are in two years so I will start looking forward to those.  Thank you London for hosting a great Olympics.  Tomorrow we head West!
