Is This The Last Day?
According to the Mayan calendar, today is the last day of the world. The Mayan calendar ends tomorrow at 11:11 UTC. That meas that for me the end of the world will happen at 3:11 AM PST. If that is the case I will be asleep. I did a little research on the Maya Calendar which is a system of calendars used in pre-Columbian Mesoamerica and currently used in many modern communities in Guatemala and some areas of Mexico. The calendar uses three different dating systems in parallel: the Long Count, the Tzolkin ( the divine calendar) and the Haab ( the civil calendar). It is an intricate system that has been fairly accurate and tomorrow we will all see if it is true. Tomorrow also starts the first day of winter. At 3:14 AM winter starts here in Southern California. Once again, while I am asleep. So, if this is the last day of the world it will not be very exciting for me; I'll be doing laundry! Just in case it is I want to say Thank You for following this blog and to my friends and family... I love you all!
