North Shore Of Oahu

We drove up to the North shore to see the big waves.  The weather predicted that the waves on the north shore were going to be 20 to 30 ft tall.  Well, that alone was worth the drive and we aren't even surfers.  The North shore has a couple of primary towns and the area is known for its great world class surfing.  We drove north, along the coast, from Bellows.  It is about an hour and a half drive as long as there is no traffic on the two lane roadway.  We did stop along the way to check out some views and to visit some of the roadside stands.  We had fresh cut watermelon and hot corn on the cob.  When we got to Hale'ewa  we decided to have lunch.  We drove through the town (which takes about 15 minutes or less where there are several small restaurants and cafes to eat at we just didn't know which one to choose.  We decided on a lunch wagon that was parked on the beach.  Now from the looks of the "food truck" we did not know what to expect but we were all pleasantly surprised on how good the food was.  After lunch we sat at the beach just watching the huge waves and trying to see how many surfers were actually brave enough to go into the water.   It was a good day!
