We Took A Drive

We took a drive yesterday to Orange Park, FL to drop off our two recliners and a coffee table trunk to our daughter Carrie.   We were going to wait and bring it to her on our return trip to Orange Park in mid February but it was a little crowded in the RV with all the furniture, new and old.  According to Google maps it was suppose to be a four hour trip.  We decided to take the backroads (adding 15 minutes)  instead of the interstate because of the furniture in the back of the truck.  Well let's just say that it was not a great way to go.  It wasn't the construction that was going on that made the trip sooooo loooong!  It was the RED LIGHTS and 'Snowbirds'.  (Snowbirds are visitors that come to Florida for the winter months and in some places  double or triple the population).  The snowbirds on the roads added to the extra traffic but it seemed like it was our destiny to make sure we got stopped by every Red Light for the 240 mile trek. We had a nice lunch with Bob and Robin and I want to thank them for being so flexible with the lunch time.  We only changed it three times during our trip.  After lunch we headed to Carrie's and dropped off the furniture.  Carrie and Philip were both busy so we did not stay long.  Our return trip to Wauchula was via the Interstate and it was a success, no red lights and cut the trip by an hour!  Overall, it was nice day and it was good to see family and friends again  eventhough it was a short visit!
