Magic Kingdom Lands

There are six lands that make up the Magic Kingdom along with Cinderella's Castle.  The castle sits in the center of the Kingdom with the six lands spoking out from the center.  It is similar to Disneyland but with an extra land, Liberty Square.
Mainstreet USA is made up of influences of towns across the country from New England to Missouri.  The shops on Mainstreet are fashioned in early-20th century small town America inspired by Walt Disney's childhood and the movie "Lady and the Tramp".  Most of the windows on Mainstreet bear the name of people who were influential at Walt Disney World or other Disney parks.
Tomorrowland is themed to be an intergalactic city from the 1950's  with rockets, UFOs and robots.  In the words of Walt Disney, "Tomorrow can be a wonderful age.  Our scientists today are opening the doors of the  Space age to achievements that will benefit our children and generations to come."  Space Mountain, Carousel of Progress and the Tomorrowland Speedway are some of the attractions in Tomorrowland.
Fantasyland is themed in a medieval/carnival style,  In the words of Walt Disney "Fantasyland is dedicated to the young at heart and to those who believe that when you wish upon a star, your dreams come true."  Prince Charmings Carousel, the Madhatter Teacups and Small World are among the attractions in Fantasyland.   The renovations that Fantasyland are under going now in the Magic Kingdom will be completed with Storybook Circus. in 2012 and the other area in 2013.
Liberty Square is fashioned on an American Revolutionary colonial town.  It has the Hall of Presidents and the Haunted Mansion along with the Liberty Bell paddle boat.  It also has the Liberty Bell on display.  This bell was cast from the original Liberty bell cast and is the second generation of the bell cast for Walt Disney World Resort in 1989.
Frontierland is where you can relive the American Old West from cowboys to exploring the mysteries on Tom Sawyer's Island to enjoying the County Bear Jamboree. Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad are more rides in Frontierland.
Adventureland represents the mystery of exploring foreign lands.  It resembles the remote jungles of Africa, Asia, the Middle East, South America and the South Pacific along with a Caribbean town square. Pirates of the Caribbean, the Jungle ride and the Tiki Room are among some of the attractions in Adventureland.
The final attraction circles the perimeter of the kingdom.  It is the Walt Disneyworld Railroad with stops in Mainstreet USA and Frontierland.  When the Magic Kingdom opened up in 1971 it had 23 attractions.  Today the Magic Kingdom has 46 attractions with more to come.
I have posted two slide shows today.  One features Cinderella's Castle, the Fireworks and Mainstreet USA and the other slide show features the five other lands of the Magic Kingdom.  As you may have discovered we really enjoyed our time at the Magic Kingdom!  Today we do not have any plans but we will find something fun to occupy our time...maybe exploring Kissimmee.  It has some "fun and different" attractions!
