Painting Scenery

Yesterday was a day for painting, painting and more painting.  I was at Debbie's house painting scenery for the TLC Dinner Theater.  We worked on two backdrops and actually got a lot done.  We finished the park scene completely and only have the detailing to do on the courtroom scene.  The good thing about the scenery we made is that it can be used for future productions since the scenery can be adapted and used for many different scenes.  It was a perfect day to be outside, on her back porch, painting because it was cooler (low 70s) and there was a slight breeze to help dry the scenes.   We were hoping to get all the scenery done but it is going to take one more day to complete what is needed.  It was a long day of painting but for as much paint as we were working with we kept relatively clean.  Debbie has sea foam green fingernails and I have a hunter green nails but other than that we did fairly well keeping the paint off of us.  Well, except when I was cleaning up and proceeded to tap close the lids to the paint cans and decided to splatter paint on my clothes but I can sacrifice a t shirt and a pair of jeans for art.  I will post some pictures of our work when we are done with it all.
Today I am headed to Tampa, FL to sing in a choir for the United Methodist World Conference that is being held for the next 11 days.  The conference begins today with a 4:00 pm worship service and a mass choir from participating United Methodist Churches.  It should be a wonderful experience and I looking forward to it.  Check back tomorrow and see how it went!
