Memorial Day Fun!

We had a fun filled Memorial Day week end doing as many touristy things we could with Carrie and Philip.  We did manage to get a lot in.  Saturday was filled with Pineapple Willy's and Pier Park.  Sunday we went to the beach at St. Andrews State Park.  We tried to go to the Jetty's beach but we could not even get into the parking lot.  So we went to the Pier beach.  I have never seen the beaches this crowded at St. Andrews.  We had to walk half way down the Pier beach just to find an empty spot.  It was so busy in the park that they actually opened the Pier store which has been closed the last two years we were here.  It was really hot sitting on the white sand beach  but the Gulf felt so good.  It was 99 degrees at the beach with a slight breeze, not enough to cool you but when you walked into the Gulf it was instant relief.  After the beach we cleaned up, went to play Putt Putt Gulf then had some ice cream and watched the sunset.  It was a full day.  Monday we got up and had breakfast then headed to Rockin' Lanes.  It is a bowling alley, billiards, roller skating rink, arcade and a sports bar.  It is a one stop shop for fun!  We started bowling.  Now I have not bowled in a while and it showed.  I think I now hold the record for most gutter balls thrown.  While everyone else were knocking downs pins I was keeping mine neat and upright.  After a few games, Carrie and Philip wanted to shoot some pool so Tim and I watched.  They are really good pool players and way out of our league.  They shot a few rounds then we headed to a late lunch.  We had a great week end with Carrie and Philip and we are so glad they could both get the time off to come and spend a couple of days with us.  It was hard to say good bye to Carrie and Philip as I will not be seeing them for about nine months; which will be the longest that Carrie and I have been apart.  I am glad we had the week end together.
I have received several entries for the 'Name the Journey' contest and tomorrow I will be announcing the winning title and the winner's name.  Thank you to all that participated!
