A year ago I made my first posting on Travels with Ruth. I remember being scared to death and not sure if I was going to be able to handle a daily blog but I am glad to say that I have posted daily and have enjoyed every day of it. Happy Anniversary Travels with Ruth! May the second year be even better. The first year of the blog we traveled through eight states and really did some major traveling through Florida. In the second year of Travels with Ruth we will start off with traveling through twelve states and taking six months to do so with a lot of concentration through Washington, Oregon and California. Hawaii, which we will not be able to do with the RV, is the 12th State and should be in December. Thank you to all that have been following this blog. I really do appreciate it and hope that you will continue to follow me as I start my second year and biggest trip yet. As always, I love hearing form you. I enjoy reading your comments and emails about my postings and I am love getting suggestions of places to visit and see. I have added one new gadget to the blog. I have Ads running on the bottom of my blog. If there is one that interests you please click on it and check it out. These ads pertain to this blog and are perfectly safe. They are not "spam" Ads. I am hoping that my slide shows gadget will come back. I still make up slide shows and if you would like to see more pictures than what is posted on the blog you can visit Picasa and search for my name and see the slide shows that I have created. Please continue to make comments and suggestions. I do try to visit all places that are recommended and always enjoy getting feedback!
Now for the announcement of the winner of the "Name this journey" contest. I had several entries and after great discussion the winning name for our next journey is, drum roll please, boom boom, boom
"Westward HO!". Congratulations to Jean Carlton! The "Westward Hoe" journey will begin this Friday, June 1st. As the winner, Jean not only gets to see her winning name on this blog but also gets to choose a destination to receive a souvenir from. Congratulations Jean and thanks for the title!
Thank you again for following Travels with Ruth for the first year. I hope you will continue to follow this blog for the second year of travels across this great Country. I am looking forward to our travels and sharing them with you through this blog.
