I Got The Boot!

Not knowing what to expect yesterday we were in for a big surprise.  The ER Doc referred us to the Orthopedic  Surgeon clinic that basically is a clinic for anyone who broke anything over the week end.  We know traffic around here gets bad in the morning so we allowed ourselves plenty of time to get to the base.  From where we are staying it takes about 40 minutes.  We left earlier then expected and got their around 7:00 am.  We went to the clinic early and since their was an attendant their they let us check in early.  It is a first come first serve clinic including active duty military so we were the first to be seen.  I have a fracture in the bone in my right foot that leads to my small toe and a couple of stress fractures in my ankle.  I did not require surgery and I will be wearing a boot for six weeks.  This is all good news! They " booted" me and we were on our way.  We were walking out the door by 8:15!  Needles to say we were very relieved and even though the boot will be challenging in the mountains we are headed back to Tennessee today.  The Dr said I could travel as long as I kept my foot elevated and stopped every three hours so I could get out and walk around for at least 10 minutes. This made Tim very happy!  So today we are on the road again! Thank you all, once again, for your prayers and concerns,  I am on the mend and heading home!  In 8 days we will be on the road again and heading to Missouri!
