Yosemite National Park Part 6

Yosemite National Park has 3.7 million visitors each year with the most popular tourist destination in the park being Yosemite Village.  It is 1189 square miles, which is roughly the size of Rhode Island.  The elevation ranges in the park are 2127 ft to 13,114 ft.  The park has a diversity of plants and animals along with 5 major vegetation zones.  There are thousand of lakes and pools, 1600 miles of streams, 800 miles of hiking trails and 350 miles of roads.
Yosemite is now one of my favorite places and I will be back to visit again.  When we leave here we will be driving through the park to the southern entrance which will be a perfect way to end our visit here.  I am glad we decided to alter the Westward Ho! journey a bit so we could spend more time at Yosemite.  We bought the National Park Annual Pass when we were in the Badlands which has given us the opportunity to see so much more than we had planned.  It was a good investment!
Today is our last day here at Yosemites Lakes and we have really enjoyed our stay here. We are going to visit Groveland today which has some interesting things to do.  Check back tomorrow and see what we did!
