Back From Cottonwood

We are back in Menifee after a quick trip to Cottonwood.  I had said I would post why we made this trip in a future post and now is the future.  We had gone to the Verde Valley Thousand Trails in Cottonwood, AZ to look at getting a site for a year.  We had thought it would be a great place to be considering how much we like the area.  After looking at the spots (and not having a very good representative to help us) we decided not to get a spot there.  Most of the other TTs have their personal sites with their own fence, a bigger lot, and in a quieter section of the park.  That is not the case at Verde Valley.  Their personal spots where just campsites and nothing more.  So, we headed back to Menifee empty handed.  We did look at the personal spots at Menifee but the ones left are not in a great section and with the flies and the "farm smells" we are looking elsewhere.  More to come on that!  The drive back was almost uneventful except for  the convoy of wide load shipments.  One slowed us down on Hwy 17 then on Hwy 60 we came across four other wide loads.  After that it was clear to drive.  It was good to be back in Arizona again and we will be going there for a couple of weeks in the end of Jan so it was not a complete waste of time.  It was a nice break for Tim and I.
Today is Thanksgiving prep for me.  I am helping Pam getting the house ready for my brothers to visit (one comes tonight the other tomorrow) .  This will be the first Thanksgiving in over 30 years that all four of us will be together  with my Mom.  My nephew Pat will be there too.  The only sad part for me is that I won't be with my girls!  Okay, now it is time to make the Pumpkin pies; my specialty at Thanksgiving!
