It Never Rains In Southern California

It never rains in southern California?  Well it did yesterday and it was amazing what an inch of rain does to an entire city.  Downtown San Diego was a flood zone with flooded streets and some were even 4 ft deep. You would think that a street being closed due to flooding would stop some drivers but not here; every driver that ignored the closure ended up with a water rescue from the Police or the Fire Dept.  The morning rush was a mess and there was even talk of closing schools due to that one inch of rain.  Now, the cool thing about being in the southern California area is that while it rains on the coast it snows in the mountains that are about an hour away.   Now, if southern Californians can't drive in the rain just imagine what happens when it snows!  Mother Nature was not content with both snow and rain in southern California, so there was also an earthquake in Baja California.  Needless to say, the "Breaking News" here in southern California is all about the weather.  Something new considering that the weather is very predictable here; warm days, cool nights and usually no rain!  Thanks Mother Nature for keeping things interesting!
