A Walk Around Bellows AFB

Bellows AFB is a very small base but it was an important base during WWII.  It was actually one of the bases that was attacked when Pearl Harbor was attacked.  It was another quiet day with Jenny having to work and Nathan was trying to get his car registered which left Tim and I at "home" to make due.  So, we did some sight seeing on Bellows.  The air strip is still here and a part of it is a road and another part houses part of the Paint Ball area they have here.  There is also a lot of wild life around here with mongooses, pigs, peacocks and chickens.  The mongooses are too quick to get a picture but I did manage to get some peacocks.  After being here almost two weeks you would think that I would spot a pig since they are everywhere but I an still striking out.  The Beach was very crowded today, due to the holiday, and the water was choppy; there were even white caps. We took a nice long walk around the base, checked out the cabins and lodge, the beach and the rest of the facilities.  It was another good day here in Waimanalo.
