King Of The Hill Run

King of the Hill run is a 5K that Jenny and Nate ran at the Marine Corps Base Hawaii in Kaneohe early yesterday morning.   VP -9 was the sponsor along with Monster and a couple of others.  This was no ordinary 5K this is one that most of the race was run up and then down a mountain.  The mountain was big but there was one benefit when you reached the top.  You can Whale watch from the top and several competitors stopped a moment to check it out and to get water then finished the race.  This was Jenny's second 5 K run but Nate's first 5 K.  They did well and came in under 45 minutes (Nate had surgery on his foot a couple of months ago and so he is still recovering).  They did it together as a couple and even held hands while crossing the finish line together.  After the race the squadron awarded prizes then we headed to Kaliua for breakfast at a small but very good breakfast spot.  The restaurant sits next to the Hamakau Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary.  It was beautiful and full of water foul.  It was something nice to see after a good breakfast.  Needless to say, I am so proud of Jenny and Nate for competing at the 5 K and more will be in their future.  Way to go Jen and Nate!
