Yesterday I went to Hollywood Studios in Disneyworld. We all had a great time and managed to see almost everything we wanted. The crowds were not bad at all. It was very hot at first but that was to be expected it is Florida in the summer! Tower of Terror was fun, the new Star Wars was good. Lights, Motors, Action Extreme Stunt show was cut short due to the weather. Toy Story Mania was so much fun. The weather turned on us and it began to rain and did not quit. We went to the finale show of the American Idol Experience and when we got out we found out the park was closed due to the weather. We had managed to stay dry to this point but as we ran to the buses we all got soaked. I have not been this wet, without actually going swimming, in a long time. Oh, what a feeling! At least it cooled things off. It was a good day but wished we did not have such a soggy ending. However, today is a new day!
Today we (same group as yesterday) are going to Epcot. Epcot opened Oct 1, 1982 and was the second park at Walt Disneyworld Resort. EPCOT is short for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. There are two areas in Epcot: Future World and World Showcase.
Future World has several attractions with some of the most popular being Mission SPACE, Test Track, Honey, I Shrunk the Audience, and Soarin'. The World Showcase has 11 countries represented. They are Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, Japan, Morocco, France, United Kingdom, Canada and the U.S.A. When you walk into each country you feel like you have just traveled to that country and each one has attractions, food and entertainment representing that country. It is a quick way to see the world without leaving Florida!
So, with yesterday behind me and today a head of me it is another great day to feel the Disney "magic"! EPCOT, here I come!
