My time in the Orlando area has come to an end and I am headed back home to Orange Park. I had a great time here in the Clermont, FL area and will be back here later in the year. After all, I do have my year pass into the Presidents Hall of Fame and I was told by the owner that the Holidays is the best time to visit. I cannot miss an opportunity like that!
Today I have also included a slideshow of the Magic Kingdom from Sunday's visit.
I had a quiet 4th of July. We had a good brunch fixed by Tim, I did some shopping (when I worked retail I refused to shop on the holidays but now that I am retired it does not bother me anymore). We went out to dinner at a really neat Steakhouse. We had dinner at the Santa Fe Cattle Company. The southwestern decor in the restaurant was very cool. Over the bar there was a 20 foot ceiling fan that circulated the air. The booths and tables looked liked they were props from a western movie with a saloon in it. There were some great hand painted signs through out the restaurant and the food was good. We did not have to go anywhere for fireworks last night. Tim and I stood out in the middle of the campground and watched at least six different fireworks shows going on plus we were watching the Capital 4th from Washingtod D.C. Happy Birthday America!
Today we will be traveling from Clermont, FL to Orange Park,FL (168 miles).
It is not a long trip and should only take us about three hours pulling our home. I don't have a lot planned once I am back home except getting my Mom's house cleared out. It looks the house will be sold so we will be making arrangemnents to get all of her items out to California to her new home. For the next couple of weeks we will also be preparing for our trip out west but that is not going to stop me from finding fun things to do in the Orange Park area. I know there is not a "Presidents Hall of Fame" so I can only hope to find something almost as good. It will be a challenge!
