Lake Minneola, Clermont, FL

Lake Minneola is located in historical downtown Clermont, FL.  It is part of the Clermont Chain of Lakes which consist of 11 lakes in Lake County and 2 lakes in Groveland.  The 11 lakes add up to 8692 acres.
All the lakes have tea colored water except Lake Minneola which has clear water.  They are all fresh water lakes but only two of the lakes have boat ramps, Lake Minneola and Lake Louisa.  Lake Louisa has a big recreational area.  Clermont is known as the "Wake Boarding Capital of the World" and offers a wake boarding camp year round.  Clermont has built a beautiful Lake front park, Waterfront Park, that has a bike/walking trail that ties in with the Rails to trails trail.  It has a fishing pier, picnic tables and benches by the fishing pier.  The park also offers a couple of picnic pavilions, a stage area, playground equipment, a beach, lots of grass and parking.
We took Shadow with us and short of going swimming he had fun playing and running in the park.  It was a beautiful morning with a great lake breeze to keep us cool during our walk.  We spent some time walking, enjoying the lake views and watching the different types of birds that make the lake their home.  It was a nice morning.  It never did rain yesterday but it did get very windy for a while as the front came through.  After the front passed it brought  cooler air with rain still predicted but doubtful.
