Golf Day

Yes, we went Golfing and I can say it was a much better day.  I actually had some nice shots and at one point looked like I could play the game.  Don't get me wrong; GOLF is still a FOUR letter word to me at times but not so much yesterday.  Tim had a great day on the golf course and played really well.  The rest of us just had fun!  It probably helped that before we played we went to the Blue Top for breakfast.  It is our favorite place to eat breakfast in Panama City with good food and a friendly atmosphere.  After Golf we went to Pineapple Willy's, a place you have to visit while in Panama City, for dinner and drinks.  Pineapple Willy's, is one of the reasons beach life and tourism came to Panama City.  Originally named Pier 99 Lounge  it was opened in 1936 with an amusement park with rides and where they served a whole Florida lobster for 75 cents by Gideon Thomas.  Tourism on Panama City Beach grew due to this popular place.  As the years went by and tourism grew so did the beach atmosphere and in 1984 William Buskell (better known as Pineapple Willy)  purchased Pier 99 lounge and changed it's name to Pineapple Willy's.  He introduced his signature rum drink the Pineapple Willy and the rest is history.  Pineapple Willy's a great place to come for good food, great cocktails and a friendly staff who like to make it fun to dine on the pier on the beach.  The scenery can't be beat and if you are there for sunset you will get a great view.  We had another great day and I know there is more to come.  Today is fishing day number three, let's hope we will get lucky!
