Today we start our Westward Ho! journey, if you want to see the route scroll down to the bottom of this page, and we are ready to go. The RV is ready, the truck is ready, Shadow is ready and so are Tim and I. First stop, Montgomery, AL which I have driven through but never stop to visit it. It is not a long journey today but we will be driving on back roads the whole way so it will take a little longer to travel.
Last night we watched our last sunset at Panama City Beach, FL for a while. It was not a spectacular sunset and clouds did move in and cover the sun before it reached the Gulf of Mexico but it was still pretty and we shared the experience with a bunch of people at the St. Andrews State Park pier. The water was churned up so we did not see any sea life but we did see at least 12 different photographers photographing families on the beach. All the families were dressed in white shirts and khaki shorts. I do not know why everyone who gets photographed at the beach where the same outfits but it must photograph well. I have never seen that many photo shoots going on at the same time. We also watched a kite boarder flying through the waves. It was a quiet night for fishing, not many at the pier, but we did watch a couple of people catch some small lady fish. All in all, we enjoyed our last evening in Panama City Beach and will miss it.
The Road Song of the day is an appropriate one, "Sweet Home Alabama", where the skies are blue and I'm coming home to you! Westward HO!
