The Bikes Are Fixed

When we left Clinton, IN heading to Chicago, IL on July 10 we had a little incident with our bikes.  While traveling on Indiana 36  one of the straps holding the bikes on the rear end platform of the RV broke and the bikes fell and were being dragged on the roadway.  We had no idea because we cannot see the rear end of the RV.  It did get a lot of calls to the County Sheriff and the State Troopers.  A truck driver notified us and we pulled over.  When we were picking up the bikes a State Trooper and a County Sheriff pulled over too.  They both said they were getting reports about an RV dragging bikes.  We got the bikes strapped up again but noticed they were damaged.  The handle bars on both bikes had been dragged on the road and had been ground down to a lethal weapon.  Tim lost a pedal and my wicker basket had a hole ground in on the side of it.  When we got to Chicago we left the bikes strapped to the RV.  Tim ordered new parts for the bikes and when we arrived back here at Clinton on Friday the parts were waiting for us.  Tim spent Saturday fixing the bikes so now they are almost back to being brand new.  We got very lucky that the tires on the bikes never dragged on the ground.  Another mishap had been corrected.
As many of you know I love the Olympics and I will watch all the events.  This past week end was great with all the coverage and I have been enjoying it all!  GO USA!
